Prepare trading partners for live operations
Partner onboarding involves more than opening a connection. Teams must agree the data, the business documents, the test cases, and the support process. vSMAART provides modules that can support these parts of a defined onboarding workflow.
Review your onboarding processAgree the partner data
Identify the company and locations involved. Confirm the identifiers each system expects and name an owner for missing or conflicting values. Keep a record of the agreed source for each field.
Define the transaction scope
List the documents and events included in the connection. Confirm versions, partner requirements, expected volumes, and the result each system should create. Separate the first release from later additions.
Test the business result
Test valid data, missing data, duplicate messages, and common failure cases. Check the outcome in the receiving application. A transport success message alone does not establish operational readiness.
Make the live handoff explicit
Agree who approves readiness, who monitors the first transactions, and who handles an exception. Record the unresolved items and decide whether any of them prevent go-live.
Use the relevant modules
SynQD supports the master data. ConneQD supports the connection. TransaQD supports EDI and B2B document processing where included. CheQD supports the work to resolve onboarding issues.
Use the trading partner master data checklist.
Questions
How long does onboarding take? The timeline depends on data readiness, connection access, partner availability, document scope, and testing. Agree a plan after these inputs are reviewed.
Can we onboard several partners at once? Discuss common requirements and the capacity of each participating team. Each partner still needs the required validation and readiness evidence.
